As Utah’s premier metal recycling center, our experience is second to none; and over the years we have worked with thousands of customers, from local residents with a few pounds of cans to large companies with truckloads of scrap material. Metro’s Non-Ferrous department is currently seeking a Scrap Processor/Buyer
  • • Greets and helps unload non-ferrous customers
  • • Identifies and sorts different types of materials
  • • Must be courteous and patient with employees and customers.
  • • Helps with housekeeping during down times
  • • Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed and Performing only those jobs on which they have been trained
  • • Will be out in the different Utah weather conditions
  • • Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • • Is responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork.
  • • Able to handle and work with demanding customers
  • • Is responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork.
  • • Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed by supervisor


Minimum Qualifications:

  • • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • • 1-2 years of customer service experience required
  • • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • • Must be able to pass background check along with drug and alcohol testing.
  • • Able to work in the heat of the summer and cold of the winter
  • • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • • Good attendance and punctuality is a must
  • • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • • Effective written communication skills and ability to complete paperwork promptly
  • • Analytical and Problem solving skills

Physical Requirements:

  • • Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • • The employee occasionally is required to lift up to 80 pounds. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
